VENUE
We supply exclusive access to the venue for your entire event (which is usually for an entire weekend). We provide breakfast every morning and strippy steak rolls during lunch on the wedding day. Other than these meals, we normally do not provide catering services, but it can be discussed. Although we normally do not handle the catering or décor ourselves, we are more than happy to refer you to other service providers who often render services on the Venue. That said, please feel welcome to negotiate the décor and catering with anyone of your choice. We have tables, chairs, cutlery, and crockery at your disposal. We provide a kitchen to the caterer. We also provide the cleaning services, as well as the clearing of the tables.
Please note that no restaurant facilities are available during your venue visit. Ankawini is a venue only. You are always welcome to bring food along for a picnic or a bring-and-braai.

ACCOMMODATION
We offer accommodation up to our maximum room availability at the Castle, which is currently 135. If possible and not booked by other guests prior to your venue booking, we will also offer Camp Omunguindi and/or Old Farmstead. There also is accommodation for 36 persons available at the neighboring farm. We can help arrange stay there if necessary. For each night of accommodation booked, we offer breakfast the following morning from 8-10am.
BAR
An affordable cash bar is available on the premises for the duration of your event, beginning on the first date of your venue booking. The bar accepts cash and card. We also provide drinks during the cocktail hour and reception, as well as before the wedding ceremony if desired.
ADD-ONS
The services listed above are included in your venue booking. Additional services/activities--such as clay pigeon shooting, game drives, sundowners, dinner by the river, etc.--can be arranged for an additional charge. Submit an Inquiry for more information.
SERVICES NOT OFFERED
We do not provide the wedding catering services, but we can provide lunch and dinner during your stay if required. This must me arranged in advanced. We do not provide restaurant services. We do not handle any decor setup, but we do have several decor items for hire.
POLICIES
Below are just a few of our policies about which clients most frequently inquire.

BOOKING
A date will only be reserved and the booking will only be confirmed once we have received the security deposit and the signed agreement.
VENUE
- Absolutely no dogs are allowed to be brought onto the venue by guests, clients, service providers, or any other party. Exceptions will be made for service animals.
- Ankawini does not provide a decor service, nor do we take part in decor setup/removal. We do not store any client decor on venue prior to the event. We do not have any staff members available to help with decor.
- All items used for decor that are owned by the venue must be returned cleaned and in the same condition as received.
- No candles or other open flames may be placed directly on flammable surfaces.
- We do not provide electrical leads or multi-plugs.
- Only natural, decomposable confetti may be used. No rice, plastic, or fabric material is allowed.
- No silly string or party string is allowed during the groom's speech (or at any other time).
- The venue shall be vacated by 11h00 on the day after the main function unless other arrangements are made prior to the event.
- All service providers must bring adequate help to perform their obligations. We do not have staff members available to complete tasks for service providers.
- Please do not give our employees instructions, especially without first consulting Ankawini management.
BAR FACILITIES / ALCOHOL
- Ankawini will provide a stocked bar facility and bartenders.
- No own liquor or drinks may be brought onto the venue premises by clients, guests, service providers, or any other party. If liquor is found on the premises that was not purchased through Ankawini, penalty charges will apply.
- Operating times of the bar and type of liquor sold are decided solely by Ankawini.
- In general, the bar will close for the night when minimal sales have been executed for a period of 30 minutes. However, this is subject to change at the discretion of Ankawini management.
- When the bar says it's closing, it is closing.
- No blowing smoke into the bar. You will be asked to leave the bar.
- No bar tabs are allowed. All drinks must be paid at time of order.
- We only supply ice for the drinks purchased in the bar. (We will not fill your coolboxes.)
- The bar may have a speaker playing its own music. The speaker is for bar use only and cannot be taken/used by guests.
- We do not provide chargers for phones, vapes, or other electronic devices. We will not charge your devices behind the bar. (Too many people, too much liquid, too much risk.)
GENERAL
- The entire venue is solar-powered, and no high-powered appliances shall be used without first consulting Ankawini management.
- Clients consent that pictures and videos may be taken during the event and published on our own media and marketing platforms and/or used to demonstrate different options/activities to potential clients/guests.
